Meet Our Doctor

Guy H. Catz, PT, DPT

Throughout my life, I've been drawn to movement and the outdoors. As a child, I climbed kitchen counters, rooftops, and trees. Since 2010, that same adventurous spirit and love of nature evolved into rock climbing — one of my greatest passions. I also enjoy beach volleyball, weightlifting, and calisthenics.

As an athlete and finalist featured on the shows Superhuman FOX and American Ninja Warrior, I know what it takes to overcome obstacles, recover from injuries, and get to the next level.

My journey to becoming a Doctor of Physical Therapy was inspired by both professional experience and personal insight as a patient. Those experiences shaped my commitment to providing the compassionate, personalized care I once sought myself.

A back injury from Muay Thai training in my late teens left me with debilitating sciatic pain. As I searched for answers, I discovered the transformative benefits of massage therapy and experienced firsthand how skilled, hands-on care could support the body's natural healing process. Inspired by my own recovery, I became a Licensed Massage Therapist and worked in spas, chiropractic and physical therapy clinics, and private practice, helping patients recover from pain, restore mobility, and improve their overall well-being.

As an athlete with ten years of experience in fitness and rehabilitation, I built a multidisciplinary career as a personal trainer, fitness instructor, coach, rock climbing instructor, and licensed massage therapist — helping clients improve their health, recover from injury, and achieve their fitness goals.

As a Doctor of Physical Therapy, I am dedicated to helping people restore movement, build strength, and improve their quality of life through compassionate, evidence-based care. My experience spans both Acute Care, Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation, Home Health and Outpatient settings — treating adults with neurological, cardiac, vestibular, orthopedic, and degenerative conditions.

I grew up in Los Angeles. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from California State University, Northridge, and my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Russell Sage College in Troy, New York.

The Healing Path Approach

Recovery is more than healing an injury — it's about restoring peace to mind and body, restoring confidence, strength, and quality of life.

Healing Path Rehabilitation is based on the belief that exceptional physical therapy requires personalized attention, effective techniques, and a comprehensive, holistic approach. By offering one-on-one care, I am able to treat you in the comfort of your home, at my office in West LA, or via telehealth, and can focus entirely on your goals without the constraints often resulting from insurance-driven care models.

I know what it feels like to wait weeks or months for appointments, to feel unheard, to receive fragmented care, or to leave appointments without a clear path forward. Those experiences taught me the importance of taking the time to understand each person's story, and creating treatment plans that are both evidence-based and deeply personalized. Those experiences inspired me to create Healing Path Rehabilitation.

Our bodies have an incredible capacity to adapt, heal, and become stronger. Small changes in how we move can lead to meaningful improvements in our health, and ultimately help us reclaim our independence and well-being.

Whether your goal is to return to your favorite sport, get back to work, get stronger after being discharged from the hospital, or simply move through daily life with less pain and greater confidence, your goals become my goals from the moment we begin working together. My focus is on restoring movement and function, reducing pain, and building strength through personalized, results-driven care — supporting you every step of the way.

I am committed to helping you get there. My mission is to empower every patient with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to take an active role in their recovery and enjoy lasting results.

I look forward to meeting you and being a trusted ally on your healing journey.

Testimonials

In their words

Dr. Guy Catz gets a 20 out of 5. He is such an amazing physical therapist and person — I don't even know where to begin. He pushes me, he's attentive. He knows his job and every part of the body so well. He's patient and he listens. Just wonderful. I arrived at the rehab hospital unable to walk or get out of bed, stiff as a board. I was scared. He was the one who got me moving and gave me hope. I said, “Guy, I want to walk out of the hospital”, he looked at me and said “I'm going to get you there”. I told him all of my goals and he actually got me to achieve each and every one of them. I can't be more thankful.
Deana, 53
Dr. Guy is realms above any PT I have experienced. His expertise, compassion and natural healing ability made such a life-changing impact on me during my treatments. The healing experience I had through him was so profound I shared it with my meditation group. I came into the clinic for my right shoulder, and simply mentioned to him that I had a severe headache. Instead of ignoring it and only focusing on my shoulder, what is covered by insurance, like most PTs would — he told me to close my eyes, he placed his hands on my neck and head, and I could feel he was channeling healing energy. My pain was fading away. I opened my eyes to see that his eyes were closed. This is the intention Guy brings to his patients. Many others will be blessed and so grateful to have experienced his loving, healing energy, and I have no doubt he will make such a difference in so many people's lives on their road to recovery.
Lina, 67
I was a patient of Guy's in his early days, before he graduated from his DPT program, and he was even the best then. He is a light for all those who have the privilege of working with him.

Patient's Choice — Care Hero of the Month, awarded to Guy H. Catz, PT, DPT

Patient's ChoiceCare Hero of the Month. Guy H. Catz, PT, DPT.

Guy received the most Care Hero shout outs on the daily Patient Care Report and discharge satisfaction surveys last month. Patients always compliment his kindness and his ability to connect with them.

I love Guy — he's very kind.
Really good work outs and he explains everything. He's very uplifting.
My favorite thing about being a physical therapist is having the ability to not just be of service, but to be a bringer of hope and a source of light for patients enduring very dark times. The best advice I can give is to meet the patients where they're at, and treat them how you would treat your own family member. Meet them with kindness, compassion and a listening ear. Connect. Make sure they feel seen, heard and understood. When you are with them, be WITH them. They should feel safe, comfortable and cared for throughout their plan of care, and know that you are in their corner throughout their healing process.
